What you'll leave with
- Your own leather notebook, made from 100% leftover leather, yours to refill for life.
- Hands-on leatherworking: cutting, folding, punching, and tying a cord-and-bead closure.
- A ready-made refill habit: swap in new paper pages and keep using the same cover.
Workshop in detail
Fold your own leather cover into a notebook with Bonne, the designer behind bon projects. You start by choosing your leather: every piece at bon projects comes from material left over from larger productions, so no two hides, prints, or colors are quite the same. Then you measure and cut your cover to size, folding it around a fresh block of paper before Bonne shows you where to punch the holes for the closure.
Threading the cord is where the notebook becomes yours: you pick your own beads and tie them into a wrap closure that holds the cover shut. The real idea behind the piece only shows once the pages run out: because the cover is built to last, you simply refill it with new paper and keep using the same notebook for years, the same adaptable, built-to-last philosophy Bonne designs every bon projects piece around.
