Bake sourdough bread from scratch

with Nick Schluter

Fort Negen 3h

Mix, shape, proof, and bake your own sourdough loaf with Fort Negen's bakers, then take your starter and tools home.

Your own baked sourdough loaf, made by hand from mix to bake.

Your own sourdough starter, ready to keep feeding at home.

A proofing basket, a dough scraper, and a scoring blade.

Workshop in detail

Get your hands into the dough with Fort Negen's bakers, and learn to bake sourdough that doesn't just taste good, but is genuinely well made. You move through the whole process together: mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking. At each stage the bakers show you what to do and explain why it works, so you leave understanding the craft, not just repeating steps. You will learn about the sourdough starter, how different flours and grains behave, and how seeds, nuts, and other additions shape flavour and texture. Enthusiastic beginners and experienced home bakers are both welcome. Everyone leaves with a sharper sense of how to control the process at home. You take home the loaf you baked yourself, plus your own sourdough starter to keep feeding. A proofing basket, a dough scraper, and a scoring blade go with you too, so you are set up to bake again.
