Workshop in detail

Catch the light with Mishel and leave with a glass art suncatcher you designed and built yourself. The technique is a modern Korean glass art method that recreates the look and feel of stained glass without any cutting or soldering. Instead of working with raw glass, you arrange coloured glass film within lead strips, building up a piece layer by layer until light passes through it the way it does in a church window. The result is the same; the process is far more approachable. Mishel's Amsterdam studio is the first place in Europe to offer this technique in a workshop setting. In the session, you choose your design and colours and build your suncatcher piece by piece, guided step by step. The process is quiet and focused in a way that tends to surprise people. Most find it more calming than they expected. When the piece is finished, it catches natural light and casts coloured reflections across any window, wall, or workspace.
